Million Dollar Man

The woman with the issue of blood had spent all her living on physicians yet didn't get any better. An often overlooked point is that she did have the resources to spend on the physicians in the first place. Why wouldn't she? Anyone who thought the way she did, who had faith like she did, would have those same resources. She was a million dollar woman. She heard of Jesus, she came, she saw Him, believed and achieved her healing. The Syrophoenician woman, despite Jesus' strong rebuke of her not deserving his blessings, didn't go home empty-handed. Her thought process and persistence wouldn't allow that. She was a million dollar woman who gave the rebuttal for all ages. She heard of Jesus, she came, saw Him, believed Him, and achieved [...]

The Responsibility

The reason for my drooped shoulders weeks ago was the fact that I had just received inquiries from over 30 people, the same day, for financial help. As I prayed to the Lord to lift up my spirit, He reminded me of a prayer I made to Him 14 years ago at a local Church on the south side of Indianapolis. I had asked God to put me in a position to be of help to others. He had answered, but I had forgotten. I immediately felt lighter. I realized that my growth this past decade has been as a direct result of the responsibility placed on me. The more the responsibility grew, the more the Lord grew me to meet it.   Paul's Responsibility The apostle Paul didn't desire [...]

What Do You Do Now That You’ve Survived?

Zerubbabel asked, "What do I do now that I have survived exile in Babylon?" He thought he would never see his homeland again. But there he was, back in his home, Israel - living in stagnancy. God had poignant words for him. I will just quote it: "Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ... and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes ...Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be [...]

Embrace The Bubble

Most modern presidents live in a bubble. This arrangement, not tied to their person, is simply a consequence of their position. Take the president of the United States for instance. He can't really deviate from a well-planned schedule. It's mostly between hotels and conference rooms when he is abroad, never in the market haggling prices. Its a life he signed up for when he chose to run for office, and a bubble that he must embrace if he wills to stay alive, for the good of his country.   The Bubble is For Your Deliverance The position of Jesus, as the Savior of the world, put Him in a unique position, a bubble. He mostly went from a meeting to isolation in prayer, sleeping, and then boarding a ship to [...]

The Kingdom’s Path

Someone asked, "How do you afford all these evangelistic trips you take around the world?" I blurted out, without much thought, "God provides." I didn't need to think much about it because I can't explain God's favor all the way. I just give Him all the glory. People see me as I am today, but they fail to see when I could not afford common milk for my daughter. I had to sneak into the university's cafeteria with an empty bottle of coke to obtain milk. That was how broke I was. People see me traveling the world today with ease, but they fail to see the years I waited because I could not get a single visa.   They See Now But Not Then Unbelievers marvel at the majesty [...]

100 Percent

If I invited you to dinner at my house and set before you a spread of rice, chicken, beans, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread, pumpkin pie, ice cream, etc.; surely you realize, innately, that you are just as welcome to have the bread as you are to have chicken. The entire spread is for you. There is no restriction imposed on you except the one you put on yourself. Why would you limit yourself to just the vegetables when you can also have the rice? I don't know about you, but I would want to eat as much variety as I can, to my fill. Those Seeds Much is known about the sower and his seeds, from the BIblical parable. How some of them fell by the wayside, some [...]

Controlling Your Circumstance

Joseph was peculiar, his life is worth studying again and again. The guy knew how to take control of his circumstances because God was with him. His brothers sold him when they noticed he was beginning to take control of the household. While he couldn't control their actions, he could and did control his circumstances. He went to Potiphar's house, and without a dollar to his name, quickly took control of it. Then off to jail, Joseph went, and he took control of the jail too. He got out of jail and instantly took control of the Egyptian country. Fourteen years later, he took control of the known world. Nations came to him and gave him their money to get what he had. What a man!   Jesus Took Control [...]
