The Holy Spirit led me to take a walk, and as I walked, I was stopped by a neighbor whom I had never interacted with in the past. We conversed about everything from my hat to his phobia of commitment. After a while. he started to talk about Jesus Christ, and I was compelled to be quiet and listen a while. He talked about his deep fear of the pain the dentists brings. He then started wondering out loud if Jesus had to visit the dentist as a boy. If Jesus ever bruised his leg as a boy. If Jesus ever felt pain. The answer in my spirit was yes, yes and yes.

What if Jesus Christ had a dentist appointment, exacerbated by the fact the instruments of dental surgery were crude in his day? Imagine the pain He felt as one tooth after another was knocked off his mouth. Jesus cried because Lazarus was ‘dead’. Prior to his meeting the Samaritan woman at the well, Jesus suffered hunger. Jesus, yes Jesus Christ was homeless, a vagabond of sorts. Jesus Christ suffered betrayal from His own people. He was tempted in every way that you are.

This life you live is full of pain. From heart break to leg break and from phobia to cancer – you name it. Jesus suffered it all.  He was tempted by sex and drugs, by alcohol and pride. He knows that overwhelming feeling, and He knows what it takes. Come boldly then, to the throne of grace and obtain mercy. If you need a breakthrough, a spouse, healing, or just the favor to ace an exam; come to Jesus Christ in prayer. From Him, obtain wisdom, love and provision. Eat His word for they are life.  The empathy of Jesus Christ makes you doubly sure that He will not fail you.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15
