Exploits – a striking or notable deed; feat; spirited or heroic act. – dictionary.com

Year 2001, I had been invited to an all night prayer and praise meeting by a close friend, Henry Oji. We danced through the night to swaying gospel music – for our King.

And then we prayed like we had never prayed before. The minister, Pastor E.A Adeboye said He felt the presence of the Holy Spirit so strongly and that we should ask what we may, it will be given. I thought about what to ask. Do I ask for riches or fame? Being young, I also thought of asking for success in my forthcoming exams. But then I recalled a scripture I once read “that they that know their God shall be STRONG, and then do EXPLOITS”. I asked the Lord that I should know Him, so that I could be strong and do exploits. After praying, I turned to my seat and saw a pamphlet advertising a Christian center close to my school many miles away. I put it away and forgot about it.

Several weeks later, as I was about to wash a shirt, I found the pamphlet in my pocket. I noticed the Christian center was within walking distance of my school. I visited and as soon as I entered the library, I heard a voice that I had never heard before. It said, “You asked to know me, here I’m I – know me”. I picked up a book with the title “If you want God’s best, don’t settle for less”, and read it from cover to cover in one seating – a feat I had never accomplished in my life. Talk about doing exploits. I came back to that library over and over again, reading and reading and knowing God more. Anything that has gone right in my life, I owe to that encounter with God because before then, I was roaming the earth. After the encounter, I became consumed with purpose. I give this testimony just so you are inspired to get to know God better.

…but the people that do know their God shall be strong , and do exploits. – Daniel 11:32
