John Wesley had a turbulent time preaching the gospel to the vast regions of England. In those days, the means of transportation was solely to saddle a horse’s back. He was severely beaten up on many occasions by the flu virus yet he continued to water the land of England with the ‘’Heavenly’’ showers of the gospel. He began to read and study the Bible in the year 1729, this great preacher continued to digest and dispense the word of GOD from that time henceforth until the day he flew home to be with the saints. It is on record that when John Wesley became a scholar of the scriptures, he devoted all his time to the scriptures and became an aficionado of just one book (the Bible) .What gave him that undefeated tenacity to carry on with the work of the kingdom even when the devil was busy fighting him with mortal afflictions of the body? Why didn’t he succumb to the harsh conditions that prevailed the air? It was that undefeated nature of our savior Jesus Christ inherent in us that made John Wesley to weather the storm and successfully evangelize the whole of England.
Billy Graham had his own fair share of mortal woes and afflictions and he still kept the candle light of the gospel burning. He made nonsense of the devil’s tentacles of afflictions simply because he has the same undefeated spirit in his gene like our Lord Jesus Christ. This is no doubt the umbrella cover of the Holy Spirit which adds an indescribable strength inside our mortal weaknesses. ‘’But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to GOD, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people but now you are the people of GOD; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy’’ (NIV 1 Peter 2 : 9-10).

He is before all things and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the first born from among the dead, so that in everything He might have supremacy’’ (NIV Colossians 1: 15-18).
