Over a twin millennium ago, the blood of the lamb was sprinkled on a pest infested abode to make it habitable for contenders and pretenders like: Mr. Good, Dr. Evil, Bro. Righteousness, Engr. Christian, Mrs. Atheist, Prophet Hypocrite, Bishop Immorality et.al. The ‘’Hand Of Providence made Golgotha the host of the grand finale.
The Shroud

The King seated on the highest height of the heavens had to turn ‘’HIS’’ back on ‘’HIS’’ only begotten son Jesus Christ because ‘’HE’’ could not behold the sins of the world. There and then, Jesus Christ shouldered the sins of the whole world (Isaiah 53:10 KJV ‘’Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise Him; He put Him to grief; when He makes himself an offering for sin…………’’). The inevitable had to snatch him away. Death crept in like an August visitor, casting the die on a sunny Friday. Behold! Jesus Christ in a shroud. The serpent smiled, thinking that this same Jesus Christ in a shroud will not mount to glory and bruise his head as was prophesied in the days of old (Gen 13:15 NIV- ‘’And I will put enmity between your offspring and hers. He will crush your head and you will strike his heels). Even though our Lord’s heels were pierced with nails and His body was as dead as steel in shroud attire, death did not succeed in holding Him captive in the grave. What was Satan thinking when he stirred the hearts of the Pharisees and Pontius Pilate to kill Jesus Christ? Perhaps, he did not know that the same Jesus Christ in a shroud was Himself the resurrection and life

I am the living one. I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever and I hold the keys of Death and Hades’ – Rev. 1:18 NIV

The Resurrection

In the climax of the unfolding drama of might, the LORD said to my Lord ‘’sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a fool stool for your feet’’ (Psalm 110:1 NIV). That same Jesus Christ in a shroud was with the ‘’Father’’ in Heaven and was seated on his right hand, decorated with splendor and majesty, holding a mighty staff. Yet, it seemed to Satan that the ‘’Man’’ in the shroud will not be able to wedge the wind of evil and deliver a doomed Earth. The story of the cross is not a myth; it is the foundation of our victory over principalities and power. By grace we have been saved (Eph 2:8). (To be continued …)
