Are you sensing a call to evangelize, yet you do not know how to start? Below are 3 steps to evangelizing. I call them the 3G’s of evangelism.
1. Grow: There is a reason you are asked, in an aircraft, to put on your Oxygen mask first before helping your child. You cannot give what you don’t have. If you don’t have Oxygen, you can’t give Oxygen to your child. If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, you cannot give the Holy Spirit to others. So the first step towards evangelizing, then is to GROW in your relationship with Christ. How do you do this? By reading the Bible daily and meditating on it. By praying to God with sincerity. And by studying the life of others who have a good relationship with Christ, through books or in person
2. Go: The next step will be to go. This may mean going to a foreign country or simply going to the neighbor across the street to witness. Jesus said:
…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. – Mark 16:15
You are prayed up, you are well studied. Now go. If you don’t have anything to say, just say how the Lord has touched you and changed your life. And how the Lord can changed their lives too. If they doubt, then offer an easy suggestion: “Come and See’. Invite them to your bible study, to your faith gatherings, that they may see for themselves, how good the Lord is
3. Give: God does not need anything from you to survive, He says:
…The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool : where is the house that ye build unto me?… – Isaiah 66:1
Yet he gives you the opportunity to give. Give of the time you have been given. Give of your resources to those who are able to Go, locally or internationally. Open up your homes to those of faith. By helping each other, we further God’s kingdom on earth.
