As a youngster, believe it or not, my passion was to play video games. I would play it and loose track of time – dawn till dusk. Recently, I have picked up gardening. When I garden, I feel very creative. I enjoy the high I get from stepping back and enjoying what I have just created. Be it the planting of new flowers, or clearing an area that was overgrown with weeds, or simply mowing the lawn – seeing my vision come to life is very fulfilling. I like the quietness of gardening. Alone with my thoughts, I meditate on scriptures and ask God what He is doing now. I don’t get paid for gardening. Mostly, it brings me closer to God. And it is something I love doing. It is my passion. I do my passion.

Jesus, on His way to Galilee, passed through Samaria. As He traveled, He got engrossed in a conversation with a Samaritan woman over Kingdom concerns. The time flew by as Jesus revealed the secrets of her heart to her, while she believed Him to be the messiah. She went into the city with a loud testimony, “come and see”, drawing many to come hear the gospel. She did her passion. The disciples, finding Jesus perceived the awkwardness of the scene but did not question their master. They asked him if he wanted food but Jesus said He had already eaten. His food, what satisfies him, his passion, is to do the will of God. He is the most alive when he does his passion.

What is your passion? What is your hobby? What will you do with excellence, if you were not paid for it? What is it that when you do it, you loose track of time, and forget you are hungry. Blessed are you if you find that one thing that makes you tick. That one thing that you can call your food. Once you have found it, do it.  I understand you are busy but create 10 to 30 minutes each day to do what you love. This is for yourself. It is your reward, your gift to yourself. Do your passion

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. – John 4:34
