Throw your heart over the bar, and your body will follow – Trapeze artist

As an 18 year old many years ago, I was in dire need of basic transportation. I also was sleeping on my friend’s couch at the time, because I didn’t have a place of my own. In lieu of these harsh circumstances, I decided to follow the advice quoted  above and throw my heart over the bar of these obstacles. In God’s providential mercies, I was able to purchase a car within 3 months of this decision, and within seven months, I was living in a nice three bedroom house.

People “On top of their game” have learned to always throw their hearts over ‘bars’, in order that their bodies may follow.  ‘Bars’ are what we regard  to as obstacles. Obstacles according to Henry Ford, are those frightful things we see when we take our eyes off our goal. Being on top is 70% heart related, and only 30% ability related. A man that wins the heart battle has made it more than halfway to his/ her goal.

If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth – Mark 9:23

It is difficult to achieve that which you can’t see or that to which you have not yet given your heart to.  If you want to be the head and not the tail in whatever field of life you’ve chosen, you must be able to consistently see an end and then throw your heart over the ‘bars’ of life, to that desired end. Of much more importance than worldly achievement, is the fact that, as Christians, we are called to throw our hearts over the bar of this fleeting life. In doing this, are we able to live daily, a life, worthy of that noble and high end (heaven).
