During my freshman year in college, Dr. Richard Neal, the History teacher, a man with very long beard once said something that messed up my mind. He said, “College graduation is in the mind. If you think you can graduate, you will”. Boy that really got me going at a time, I felt I could only complete 1 semester before dropping out. He spoke to the class but it felt as though he spoke directly to me. How could he have known that college graduation was the very thing I was fretting over at that season of my life?

A few weeks later, I was in the shower and thoughts began to swirl through my mind. I remember being overwhelmed with gratitude to God for bringing me this far. What seemed like a dream was now a reality and I prayed, Lord – if it ends here, if it ends with me just completing one semester, I am forever grateful. Well, it did not end there. God has been so good to me, but I know its in gratitude for what He has done and what He is doing, that the future expectations are met and exceeded. Surely:

He is able to do exceedingly abundantly

I knew that day, without a cinch of doubt that I would graduate. See folks, its in the mind, as the scriptures states:

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed , and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass ; he shall have whatsoever he sait” – Mark 11:2.

It’s in the mind. Believe!
