Praise the Lord, I have a testimony, our ministry was a recipient of a grant. We thank the Lord for what these funds will do for the ministry. I was at a Church in Kenya when a minister jumped up and asked a simple but insightful question: “Have you started your business yet, or in the process of starting one?” That was a queer question to ask in a Church but as I thought of it, I understood what he meant. You know it’s a much better prayer point to ask the Lord for a new customer than to ask that your cruel boss dies. It’s much better to ask for an increase in business than to ask for someone to quit so you can be promoted.

You see, Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion of his spirit, of his anointing, or in other words, of his business. Those are the kinds of prayer points you should pray for. It’s not wrong or greedy. A bigger ministry, a bigger business, a bigger opportunity. As scripture states: “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” – Luke 12:32. He knows you will use it to bless others and bless Him. Now, you may not get this successful business overnight.

Like Elisha, you may have to go through Gilgal, then Bethel, then Jericho before getting to Jordan and receiving a thriving business. You may have to, as I did, start in the dish room of a restaurant, to securing a full-time job, and then starting your business. So as that Kenyan minister asked, so I ask you. Have you started your business yet, or in a process of starting yours?

I’ve got good news, glory be to God. I am beginning to regain my time with God, the Holy Spirit wakes me up at 3 pm to observe my quiet time, after being away from the lord for some time – Chidi Umoke.

Jesus Christ loves you and so do I. Until next time.
