It is that season again, Easter is in the air, the stores are full with Easter eggs and Easter bunnies. This is one of those weekends when you actually do not miss church. There is a lot in it for the children who go on Easter egg hunts, there is a lot in it for churches who see some of their largest attendance for the whole year, yet you ask, “what is in it for me?” Well, here goes:

Easter – Its all about the Savior’s love for you!

Easter is all about you. It is about a Savior and His love for you. It is about Jesus Christ who died so you can live an abundant life. He rose, so you can be victoriously free. He bore stripes so that you are healed. He became poor so you can be rich. He became sin so that you can become the righteousness of God. He bore your shame on the cross, so that you can live without condemnation. He became lost so you can be found. He became a man of sorrow, so you can have joy unspeakable, that your mouth may be full of laughter. He took on despair so you can have hope. He drank the cup of depression so you can have the euphoria that comes from his revelation. He paid the debt, so you can owe nothing.

He paid the ransom, so you can be released from captivity. He became a slave so you can, as king rule. He was despised so you can be loved. He was rejected so you can be accepted. He became vulnerable so that you may be secure and safe. He allowed His daily routine to be unconscious so that you may live with purpose. He put in the work, the effort, so that you may be rewarded. He lived the bad life so that you may have the good life. Easter is about the King who died so you may be free. Easter has everything in it for you.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed – Isaiah 53:5
