Occasionally, people try to tell me what to do and why I should do it. Some of these things have nothing to do with my calling. Just someone having an idea, and wanting me to fit into that idea. I easily spot these because I remember where I was when God called me. I remember it was just me and God then, when things were rough. No one showed up but God.  We know each other from a deep place.

You exist to feed me

Jesus had just fed the multitude with bread and fish. Word spread and the crowd around him swelled. He became an instant celebrity. Yet, He knew that the reason many followed, was because they wanted Him to fit into their plans of food provision. Jesus shook things up by giving them a hard message. “To be a part of me, you must eat my flesh and drink my blood”. The crowd felt he was a cannibal. One by one, they left. All, except for the disciples. He asked why they had not yet left, and Peter,  responded with the immortal words:

…Lord, to whom shall we go ? thou hast the words of eternal life – John 6:68

You see Peter and the disciples knew Jesus before the crowds started showing up. They observed him pray. They knew when He was hungry, they saw Him sleep, possibly snore. They observed Him struggle and overcome. They knew Him from a deep place.

When all else fails, Jesus Christ will be the last man standing for you. Now utilize this revelation in your decision making, moving forward

Your Deep Place

I recently watched a video on YouTube. While it was not Hollywood style glitz, I was drawn to the passion and sincerity of the singer. I didn’t understand the language (Swahili) but It was as though she sang from a deep place that only her and God had been. A place no one but her could understand. I reached out to Hellen Nzevu, and asked for her testimony. What she shared touched me deeply. I pray that her story inspires you to recall the deep place where you’ve been with God, and realign your life to His will. Read her story here and be blessed.
