A fellow passenger boarded our domestic flight with nothing but the clothes on his back and the small backpack he carried. That seemed ludicrous to me until we disembarked, and then I saw the wisdom of his action. He walked right through everything on his way to his destination. I on the other hand, was held back a long time waiting for my hand luggage. Then I had to go down to the carousel to wait some more for my other luggage to appear. My luggage was full of extra clothes I didn’t need. Because the gentleman cut down to his essentials, he was able to accelerate, while I was delayed.

The Covenant to Cut

As a token of the covenant between Abraham and God, the Israelites were asked to be circumcised. They were asked to cut. This was going to be painful no doubt. They would need a day or 2 to covalence but that pain was temporary. It had to be endured so that they could identify with their mission. The Lord rolled away the reproach of Egypt from the Israelites, the day they recovered from their circumcision cut. They were now conditioned to accelerate into the promised land.

Stay Light

In an emergency, air planes may have to jettison (cut excess) fuel so they do not land overweight. Lighter cars accelerate faster than semi’s (lorries). Birds sequentially cut their feather so new ones can grow and sustain their flight. 2018 would be started right if you let go of the dead weight. Cut pornography, cut indecision, cut fear of failure, cut ties with people who are not propelling you towards your mission. Cut unbelief. Cut debt. Cut, focus, cut, stay light, so you can accelerate towards your mission.

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us – 1 Corinthians 5:7
