I was fairly distraught after an interview I counted on getting, went awry. I explained to dad what happened and he gave me a biblical nugget of wisdom, which has served me very well, and I think will serve you well too. He said, Uche you were desperate. If I were the one, I won’t be desperate, I would be ready to pack my briefcase and go home if I didn’t get it. I am blessed and have a nice life and so would continue to thrive without that opportunity. That is the kind of attitude that gives you the opportunity”. It is biblical too. You see scripture says:

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. – Matthew 6:33

Rebecca gave drink to Isaac’s Carmel, not because she was seeking an opportunity, but because she was seeking the Lord. And those same Camels took her to her husband’s house. Let God give you the opportunity. And if He does not give it to you, then you don’t want it. Jesus is the gift that keeps giving. Yet too often, we come seeking His hand—what He can provide—rather than His face—who He is. So go hard after the Lord today, then apply yourself and trust He will add to you the opportunities you need (even if it means a delay) and He would turn down those you don’t need.
