Dust was in the air that early 2012 evening as the Sun crept slowly into the horizon, dodging and side stepping behind the Ogun State clouds. The anticipation in the atmosphere could be felt by all and sundry as a sea of humanity descended to the auditorium for the beginning of a meeting called Holy Ghost Convention.

I could not help but notice the vast presence of cell phone towers delivering efficient 3G internet speeds. These towers were not available the last time I was here, about 8 years ago. I further observed that less than 1% of the congregants had regular access to the internet via mobile devices. I thought, what if all these people could plug in and participate in the mobile (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) internet as we know it today? What if they could all tap into a daily dose of God’s presence through their smartphones as we do? I reckon that this is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. The infrastructure is readily available and the price of technology continues to fall. The question then is, are you ready?

According to internet Giant Cisco, today, 32% (2.3 billion people) of the world is connected to the internet. By 2017, that number will grow to 48% (3.6 billion people). Mobile devices will generate 68% of internet traffic by 2017. Do you see the opportunity? Do you further understand what Jesus Christ meant when he said:

…The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. – Luke 10:2

What exciting days we live in. What an opportunity for God’s laborers to fill the earth with the presence of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. All over the globe, hearts are hungry for that which  Christians alone, can offer. The technology is becoming more and more available to offer God’s presence. I encourage you, to embrace this challenge wholeheartedly. Lean in, seize this moment and become everything God has called you to be. C’mon.
